E-Collar Recall Programme

Building reliable recall and greater off-lead freedom

Does your dog disappear the moment a squirrel appears? Are they so excited to greet other dogs or people that you struggle to get them back? Perhaps you have tried different approaches to recall, but your dog still struggles to respond when it matters most.

How the programme works?

E-collar training is not a starting point or a standalone quick fix. An initial assessment session is required before the programme can proceed.

We first assess your dog's current recall, existing training, behaviour, motivations and individual needs. If the foundations are not in place, we will work on them before progressing to e-collar conditioning and will let you know approximate timeframe and additional sessions needed.

Throughout the process, we will assess what additional outlets your dog may need to help fulfil their natural instincts. Depending on the individual dog, this might include simple retrieving or chasing games, a flirt pole, or finding a favourite toy that can be used to channel their working instincts appropriately. Also understanding your dogs social needs and how to shape them safely and correctly.

The aim is to combine clear communication and consistent training with an understanding of what motivates your dog, rather than expecting recall alone to meet all their needs.

Outcomes

Full recall – your dog returns when called and comes to sit directly in front of you, you should be able to clip the lead on if you have to and dog waits for the follow up instruction.

Release command – your dog is released to resume exploring until called again.

Half recall – your dog responds by moving along with you rather than necessarily returning all the way to you. This can be particularly useful during everyday walks.

“Leave it” – your dog learns to disengage and move away when asked, whether the distraction is food, another dog's toy, a person, another dog or something else relevant to their individual challenges.

We tailor the training to the dog in front of us, identifying their particular challenges and working towards clear, consistent responses that are useful in real-life situations.

The result we work towards is a simple, practical communication system that helps you navigate everyday walks with greater confidence and gives your dog the opportunity to enjoy appropriate freedom and exploration.

The process

Initial asestment – An initial assessment session is required before the programme can proceed. Usually throughout the session we already start working with you and your dog, its not only great way for us to know if can help but for you to understand if we are the right fit. Will share our honest and candid asestment and the following steps. The cost of initial session will be minused from the program fee if we decide to proceed.

The first session- explaining the basic concepts of how e collar works and showing it all on yourself so you have a clear understanding what your dog feels and how do we define the working levels for every single dog at the conditioning stage and later on working through the recall challenges. Will start conditioning process on your dog and give you the mandatory homework to do till next session.

Second to the fith session we will working through getting your dog fully of lead in their everyday environment and fully equip you to understand when and how to use e - collar to proof your recall. The final aim is the dog who responds to your verbal commands and e- collar is their in case they don’t and you can immediatly get them back of any distractions. After every session we will have mandatory homework given and you will have a full support on Whats App.

Timeframe - all the sessions will happen 2 to 3 weeks time period to have a prompt improvent of your everyday life and not stall a progress

Additional handlers -all the sessions are designed for one handler if you would like to add additional family members anyone else looking after your dog additional session will have to be added after we finished with your programme to have the clarity and consistency your dog deserves.

Does this sound familiar?

Your dog ignores you outside

  • Walks are stressful, not enjoyable

  • Recall feels impossible

  • You’ve tried trainers before — with little change

  • You don’t even know where to start?

  • You tried group classes and it did not work in real life

  • You want the consistent support all through the training journey

You’re not alone. Many of my clients felt exactly the same — until things finally clicked.

For some dogs, particularly those with strong chasing instincts or high exercise and enrichment needs, unreliable recall can mean spending far too much time on the lead and even causing frustration based behaviour issues. This can leave both dog and owner frustrated, with fewer opportunities for appropriate freedom and exploration.

Other challenges may include scavenging and eating things they shouldn't, helping themselves to food at picnics, chasing wildlife, becoming distracted around football matches, chasing bikes or runners, or repeatedly approaching dogs and people despite being called away.

These behaviours can create genuine safety concerns, stress and, in some cases, expensive veterinary visits.

The aim of this programme is to develop a clear, practical system that helps you communicate with your dog, improve their responsiveness and work towards greater freedom where appropriate.
